Peter A. Sutyak Award

Peter A. Sutyak was born in La Rochelle, France, on November 5, 1953.  He was confirmed at All Saints’ Church in 1967 and was very active in the church, serving as an acolyte and with other parish activities.

Peter attended Harrison High School, where he was a great track star with a promising future to enter the World Olympics. Not only did Peter plan to attend college but he was studying for the Episcopal Priesthood. However, his life was cut short due to an illness in 1973.

Rector Alfred P. Montalto wrote a letter in February 25, 1975 urging the parish to consider keeping Peter's "spirit" alive through The Peter A. Sutyak Memorial Fund. He wrote:

“May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercies of God rest in peace and let light perpetual shine upon them.”

All Saints’ Church continues to award the Peter Sutyak Scholarship to an outstanding student of the graduating class of Harrison High School who has demonstrated commitment to helping others in some way and plans to continue his or her education by attending an institution of higher learning.
